Sorry for Tyler’s poorly chosen and confusing title to our last post: ‘Maybe we Need a Break’. Though we appreciate the outpouring of congratulations over completing our story arc — which as it currently stands is a guy attempting a hero’s journey to use a public toilet — we are far from done. The “break” Penny seeks is only the beginning of her journey.
As you will discover below — in Trina’s latest mesmerizing feat of artistry — we have only just begun to blast off.
This comic is NSFW. This dispatch contains everything we have made available from the beginning (all six pages). You are getting the full comic here. Thank you for following this journey of creation.
️**Trina’s work is best savored by viewing in fullscreen splendor with the above CBZ and PDF files (maybe we included a free phone wallpaper in the pdf). However, given that this page panders to those of you scrolling for content in the “toilet pews” we have embedded a version below for your toilet scrolling pleasure:
And away we go. >BOING<
Far from complete — when all is drawn and done this comic will actually be 6 issues long. This first issue is still 19 pages from concluding. The next 4 issues will be 22 pages each. And the grand finale? Well, that is a very special event we are calling The Double Bubble. Sorry, I’m afraid to hold us accountable on that particular page count at this point, but Todd is now on his journey to the end:
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone following along and supporting us in the creation of this project. If you’d like to join the (collective noun for Gumballerinas still in progress) please do:
I can’t believe it has been over a month since the Los Angeles Zine fest. My friend Maddy Peter’s work can be seen above. I was very pumped to see she had nearly sold out within a couple hours of the doors opening. If you want to see more of her delightful and touching work, check out @500Seawormideas on Instagram.
Also from the Zine Fest: above is the booth of Trenyce Tong, and no it is not my photo, I certainly would have snapped up one of her ‘Golden Lovers’ zines I was seeking out had they still been in stock when I passed her table. However, I am very happy to have attained her perfectly timed ‘I Love Kendall Roy’ confessional Zine ahead of the Succession finale. Want to join my quest to collect all of her work? Check out: @melikeursmile
For our next post I look forward to sharing the work of some amazing creators I met at Qcon. Don’t worry, Qcon is the title chosen for West Hollywood’s LGBTQ Comicon, it has nothing to do with the other fantasy fiction based Q initiative. Time to take back the letter Q.
I’ve been mentioning a lot of Instagram handles… so why not get one of our own? BECAUSE WE ALREADY HAVE. We are finally rolling out the long asked for Gumball Man Instagram here: @GumballManComic
You can get fun posts like the above, informing you a new page is going to drop. And we are launching just in time for the launch of Insta parent Meta’s THREADS — Time to plant your flag. Which billionaire’s data-mining initiative do you choose to feed 500 character or less samplings of human behavior and patterns?…
Uh, oh, getting bleak, our AI lawyer Steward.t warned me this would happen if I rambled too long. Predictive bastard. I better wrap things up.
As part of our continuing inter-web expansion we have some surprises in store and they might just involve an unexpected result from the last post’s “shinny butt” comment thread.
In the meantime, look at all these Timmys:

Patience…. patience… fall back on your Gumballerina Academy training… remain calm… & stay tuned.
In closing—
Apologies for being a little behind with this post, Trina has been on an amazing trip to open yet another fascinating chapter in her life. But we aren’t as behind as we could be given she is an unstoppable force and ignored my calls to take it easy. She designed this latest page while flying across an ocean to Hawaii.
And that isn’t even the most impressive update about her life/career to happen between these pages, but more on that soon.
In contrast, you’ll notice my landlocked trip to the Denver FanExpo set us back in no way, proving once again how unnecessary I am, and how essential the wonderful, graceful art of Trina Dasgupta is to this project. Check out more of her work: @Trinscope
I have plenty of fun stuff to share from the FanExpo soon.
Hope you are having a great start to a well deserved summer.
THANK YOU,
-The TDs
