Howdy,
Tyler here, hoping what we call “bump” day in Gumball Land has been decent for you. If you haven’t been spared the ecological tragedy and terror playing out across the Northern Hemisphere, we hope you are able to stay safe within it.
We can all use a distraction at times. Since we don’t yet have access to the lulling, cocoon-like absorption of a new pair of Apple Goggles™, we instead offer the latest page of Gumball Man. Where you can finally learn what fate awaits young Timothy in the Centerville Mall bathrooms and why Trina called this “The most fun I have had (drawing a page) yet.”

**Trina’s work is exponentially inspiring to me and offers many rewards if viewed in fullscreen splendor with the above CBZ and PDF files. (we tried something new in the PDF for those viewing in Preview*. We added a pink filler-page allowing you to view the two-page spreads as intended — make sure you have “two pages” turned on under the “view” tab.) This is just something we are trying out for purists.

Fun fact: When I first pitched the story to Trina I got so wrapped up in the events following this that I made it all the way to our big moment on page 10 before she asked — with a slightly stricken expression — “But what happens to Timothy?”
Now we can finally put all of the depraved theories I have been hearing to rest. But rather than starting a debate about where on the “lasting harm” scale a child’s addictive gamer-mind encountering child-marketed, addictive chemicals sits; we have a far more interesting debate to engage you in. First, perhaps now you feel comfortable enough to….
The most rewarding part of this medium is that every page is a direct result of Trina and my collaboration and vision. It is a relief not to have too many cooks in the kitchen when working in a visual medium, but I realized I alone could not provide the level of feedback needed when she asked:
“Also ….should I make the butt shinier?”
I am in over my head, but comforted with the knowledge that I can turn to our fine subscribers, aka the Gumballerinas for help.
So what say you?
Also, if you had a feeling pages 4 & 5 were designed to be read together, you are darn right they were. Going forward we will be posting in the two-page format below, with the latest page always posted as a single.
In closing, Trina has expressed concern I compliment her too much. So I will simply state that every week I feel like there is a canon firing birthday gifts at me as I see the art being realized from stage to stage.
I am so happy to get to share it with you here, and there is much more to come.
